Thank you and Happy Birthday

I needed a card to say Thank You to the folks who have been working with my husband for his physical therapy.  So naturally I first looked at my favorite place for inspiration CARDZTV.  I loved this card so much that I had to try it.  I didn't have the Walk in my Garden cartridge, but I ordered it and when it came I was able to almost recreate Mary's card.
This is what I came up with:

I loved the way it looked so much I decided to make one similar for my friend Marcia's birthday.

These cards are 5 x 7 size which is different than what I usually make, but I happened to have some envelopes that fit them perfectly.  I love the pop dots giving the pot a 3D look.

Happy 80th birthday!

Last August my Dad had his 80th birthday and I made him this card:
He seemed to really like it and I was really pleased with the way this turned out.  Today is my husband's uncle's 80th birthday so I made him one very similar:
On this one I used my Gypsy to make the cupcake in the middle a card so that I could open it and write on it.

We will be driving down to Savannah to wish Uncle Don a happy 80th birthday today!

Happy Birthday MawMa

Does it seem like I have a lot of family birthdays lately?  Well I do!  Today is my step-grandmother's birthday.  I didn't want to use the Teddy Bear cartridge for both her's and my step-mother's cards so this is what  I came up with:
This owl is from Create a Critter one of my very favorite cartridges.  I have used it more than any of the others that I own.
Not sure why, but I have been forgetting to take a picture of the inside of the cards lately , but they are decorated too.

Happy birthday MawMa!

Happy Birthday Wanda!

Today is my step-mother's birthday.  Since she gave me the Cricut Teddy Bear Parade cartridge for Christmas, I decided to use it for her birthday card:
This is only the second card that I have made using this new cartridge, but I love it and am so excited to start using it.  I took a friend's advice and have made quite a few of the bears to have ready so all I need to do is make their outfit when I need one.
I still haven't bought the coordinating stamp set yet, so I printed the sentiment out on the computer.

Happy Birthday Wanda!

PFC Birthday Boy

After seeing this post on Operation Write Home's Facebook wall:
"One of my contacts is celebrating his 20th birthday in Afghanistan in December...send him a special card (to the Washington shipping address only) by Nov 30 to be included in the celebration! Address it to PFC Birthday Boy :)"

I knew I had to send this young man a birthday card.  Making cards for men has always been kind of hard for me but his is what I came up with:

Not really sure what to write on the inside, that part is hard too, but I know I will write that I am praying for him to come home safely and thank him for his service to our country!
If you would like to send one also, here is the address:

Happy Birthday Susan!

A good friend of mine has a birthday coming up this weekend so I thought I would share the card that I made for her.  The flower paper is some that I already had and don't remember from where, but the glitter paper is from a new pack that I just got.  It is DCWV "Sweet".  I love this pack, it has so many pretty pages.

I'm not sure if the glitter paper is going to show up or not as I'm still trying different places around my house trying to get the lighting right to show true colors.
I wanted to dress up the inside a little more than usual so here is what I came up with:
Happy birthday Susan!

Happy birthday Nikki!

Now that our daughter has seen her birthday card, it is safe to post pictures of it.  I love the way it turned out.
Here is where I got my inspiration from:   Carol's Creations: Zebra purse card

I used my Wild Card cartridge for the purse cut and used my Gypsy to weld two of them together.  Then Paper Doll Dress-up for the items inside the purse.

I also used my Crop-a-Dile to add an eyelet on front of the coin purse.

The sentiment was printed out on the computer.

I wanted this card to be pretty big so it ended up not fitting in any envelope, but since I wasn't planning on mailing it anyway, it didn't matter.

Happy Birthday Nikki!

Happy Birthday Ryan

We have another birthday coming up in our family.  This one is our grandson Ryan who will be turning 4.  Ryan is currently a big fan of super heroes and one that he likes is Robin from Batman.  I checked out the Batman cartridge and it didn't have any images of Robin, so I decided to create one.  I used the Superboy image from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.  I cut him out at 4 inches.  I had found a picture of Robin on the internet and tried to make the costume as close as possible.

The car looked a little blah by itself so I decided to stick a number 4 on it just to give it a little color.  I wanted to make this card big so that I could get a lot of  detail on Robin, so the card base is an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock folded in half.

For the inside I used my Cricut markers again.  I guess you can see which image of "Happy Birthday" is my current favorite.

For the envelope, I once again used my Cricut markers and my Gypsy.  The font is from the Lyrical letters cartridge.

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Happy Birthday Mom

Welcome to E Dee’s Designs, where I will be sharing a few of my Cricut creations (and maybe a few other things).  September is a busy birthday month in our family.  Since my mom will be having a birthday on Sunday, this is the card that I made for her.

I decided on the giftbag cut on the Birthday Bash cartridge.  I used my Gypsy to flip and weld 2 bags together in order to make a shape card.

The paper that I used is Purple Hydrangeas and Scuffed Burgundy/Blue stripe by Paper Pizazz.  I also cut out an extra giftbag to use on the inside because it looked like it needed something extra.

My daughter helped me pick out some solid coordinating colors for the gift tag and flower  and I had a purple and silver brad that matched perfectly.

I also like to use my Cricut to make the envelopes for my cards.  I drew it out on my Gypsy to get the words where I wanted them.

Then used a blue Cricut marker to write it out.

Happy Birthday Mom!
