Exploring Cricut Challenge

Good morning everyone!  I am so excited to be able to enter the Exploring Cricut Challenge today. I had wanted to make a card for our son who was graduating from Officer's Training School for the Air Force.  I wanted to be sure exactly what the  uniform looked like so I looked up on Google images for a Second Lieutenant uniform.  I realized I could make almost the whole  uniform with the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.  I made the card at 8 1/2 x 51/2 and the little Second Lieutenant at 4 inches.  The only problem I had was coming up with the hat.  I used the policeman uniform but the hat just wasn't right.  I searched all of my Cricut cartridges and none had anything close.  So on to plan B.  I used my Gypsy and took a triangle and a circle from Gypsy Wanderings and welded them together then stretched it until it looked the way I wanted it to.  The silver buttons and pins are just drawn on with a silver gel pin.  With today being the anniversary of 9-11, it is a perfect day to spotlight a patriotic card!
